For those of you looking for an excuse to leave your desk, my colleagues and I have proposed a new session for EGU 2015 in Vienna, Austria, Geomechanics in natural environments: quantifying environmental stresses and physical soil or rock behaviour. We expect contributions will improve our ability to predict change in Earth surface systems, and hope to encourage discussion across a wide range of Earth science disciplines.

The meeting will be held between the 12th – 17th of April in Vienna (Austria), and the window for abstract submission closes on 7 Jan 2015, 13:00 CET. A limited amount of financial support is available through the EGU for students and early career researchers. If you intend to apply for financial support it is required that you submit your abstract by 28 November 2015.
